Not Under the Law, but Under Grace
Mar 20, 2022 • Ken Spicer
In this episode of Critical Grace Theology, Pastor Ken wraps up Romans 6, iterating the importance of being dead to sin in Christ. Throughout the Bible, there are patterns of syntactical moods and forms that are pivotal to our understanding of a passage. One of these patterns is found in Romans 6. It is interplay between what is called the indicative and the imperative. Pastor Ken seeks to make sense of their relationship, not isolating one from the other, but harmonizing the two in light of the gospel. We are gracists and contrary to popular belief, while we thank God for the indicatives of His grace, we take serious the imperatives of His word. We are simply becoming what we already are.
